COVID-19 Precautions

Per the order from Governor Baker and similar orders from the Town of Danvers regarding COVID-19 transmission, all bodywork practices will be closed until at least April 5th.

All of us should be concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses when conducting business and visiting public establishments. As a professional therapist that specializes in human touch and bodywork, your health and safety are my primary concern. To that end, I wish to share with you some general information about steps that I am currently taking to mitigate the spread of viruses, and other general routines of which you may not be aware.

  • Please postpone your visit to my studio in these situations:
    • If you are feeling unwell, with a fever or other flu-like symptoms, please stay home and rest and postpone your visit until you are fully recovered.
    • Likewise, if you know you have likely been in contact with someone with COVID-19, please postpone your visit for at least 14 days from that contact, assuming you have had no symptoms.
    • If you are known to have COVID-19, please follow the directions of your medical professionals and/or the CDC before scheduling an appointment.
    • Cancellation fees will be suspended for the foreseeable future. So if you're not feeling well leading up to your appointment, please let me know immediately and we will postpone your session.
    • Likewise, if I become ill, have any symptoms, or find I have been in contact with someone of concern, I will contact you immediately to postpone your session.
  • Current COVID-19 precautions:
    • If you are over 70 years of age, or have medical conditions that make you more susceptible to the impact of COVID-19, please use your best judgment about whether to book now or postpone until a future date. (CDC discussion about those at higher risk for serious illness can be read here.)
    • When entering my studio I will ask you to wash your hands to prevent the spread of any possible exposure that may have occurred elsewhere.
    • While performing bodywork while you are supine (lying face up), I will avoid working in areas that would cause close proximity to your face. This will usually mean avoiding the following bodywork:
      • Neck work while supine (face up).
      • Face and scalp work while supine.
      • TMJ work.
  • Ongoing standard procedures:
    • Thorough hand and forearm washing occurs immediately before and immediately following each session.
    • After each session all table linens and towels are removed and sent to the laundry.
    • The face cradle and all attached devices are thoroughly disinfected.
    • During this particular time, door handles and other surfaces that receive regular contact will be disinfected daily.

If you should have any further questions or concerns, please contact me and I will be glad to discuss any these precautions with you in detail.
